My niece was in town and she loves pasta, particularly Carbonara. This was on my list of places to try, they serve Carbonara, and they had available seats for us. We went strictly for pasta. Got the Carbonara and Amatriciana dishes and they were fabulous. We also enjoyed a complimentary bread basket (3 different varieties) with two different kinds of olive oil (one was peppery; other was buttery). We loved everything and left very satisfied and with a bottle (we purchased from them) of the buttery olive oil!

We tried Roscioli's upstairs for their a la carte menu and generally enjoyed it. I liked that they had sparkling water "on tap" complimentary as well. The pasta portions upstairs are more substantial than I expected and the meatballs with polenta was a surprise star dish of the night. One star docked for the service - we waited to catch our servers attention at every point in the night and gave up on getting dessert because it took way too long.

Came here for the à la cart menu upstairs. Highly recommend having a reservation if you want to come here. They do have a walk up list starting at 5p but space is pretty limited especially if you want a table and not the bar seats. It was my boyfriend's birthday so we ordered a myriad of dishes to share. Everything was delicious and up to par to most of the popular Italian spots in the city. Surprisingly, we thought the standout items were not the pasta but the meat/cheese platter and the tiramisu. Very trendy spot to check out and you won't be disappointed by the food.

Snagged a reservation @rosciolinyc for their amazing $55 prix fixe lunch menu - who knew they even offered that? It was three courses of pure Italian deliciousness, and everything we shared was a winner! Reminded me of my trip to Puglia First Course: Burrata with Puglian tomatoes & Treviso Salad. The salad was surprisingly filling and bursting with flavor, and the burrata was melt-in-your-mouth creamy. A perfect starter! Second Course: Cacio e Pepe suppli - basically an arancini filled with cacio e pepe flavors! So good! We also loved the Carciofi (artichoke) fritti - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Third Course: Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the pastas! We opted for the Taglioni Cacio e Pepe and Mezze Maniche all'Amatriciana, and both were pure perfection. Dessert: Though not included in the prix fixe, you HAVE to try the Tiramisu. It's seriously the best I've ever had! Don't skip it!

Loved Roscioli! We came for my birthday and came for the tasting menu. We did get there at 8:15 and had to wait until 8:30pm to turn everything over from the earlier seating. Not an issue at all, but just a flag if you plan to get there a little early! The restaurant itself was beautiful, I loved the vibes and the warm lighting. Some of the two tops are kind of close together but ultimately it still felt intimate. We started with a bread basket and two types of olive oil which was delicious. We then moved onto the burrata which was supperrr fresh and then the parsley risotto which was delicious. It had a great taste and texture. This was followed by the carbonara which I found to be a bit salty and then the veal which came with the BEST mashed potatoes ever! I wish there was a whole course of those potatoes lol but the veal was also very good. Finally we ended with a little cheese course and some tiramisu. Not to mention the tasting menu came with a wine pairing! I know other people have said the tasting menu wasn't super filling and maybe we ate too much bread at the beginning, but we left quite full! The staff was all incredibly kind, knowledgeable and attentive. We can't wait to come back and try the a la carte menu.

I ate at Roscioli, one of the highest rated restaurants in Rome, before the pandemic. I was excited to see it listed on a New Restaurants New York list! If you want authentic Italian, away from the tourist traps, it's up your alley. It's located on a cute block in a great neighborhood. I got a table reservation on the 2nd day they started lunch service. I booked it the day before. The dinners were only available after 10pm. They have a charge policy on the reservation cancellation after a certain time. I had to change the reservation time by an hour and emailed them. They accommodated me at a later seating. The staff is dressed hip and casual. They are very friendly. The owner's son moved here from Rome to launch the New York chapter. He goes around to all the tables, actively serving and chatting with everyone. It's very hands on. It's a 3-course lunch $55 with dessert and drinks optional. It maintains the food standard of Roscioli Rome. There are only 10 tables, so this will probably be a hard table to book when word gets around. The most radical thing for New York may be waiting and relaxing. I don't know if they were figuring out the new restaurant or what, but I enjoyed being able to not be stressed out for a break, wait, and eat slowly like a European. I was also able to digest the heavy food between courses. The crowd was a mix of chic, black-clad SoHo'ers, well-dressed gay finance guys wooing a client, couples sharing cheese, a mother with a baby, and birthdays. One woman had her lap dog. The olive oil was fresh and tasty from different regions of Italy. For first course, I ordered the carciofi, which is a Roman speciality. It is small carciofi, roasted, not the big ones you peel and eat with your teeth. For second course, the burrata with tomatoes. For third course, Cacio e Pepe. The pasta was Al dente and the sauce was delicious. The tiramisu was phenomenal. I also had a Prosecco and cappuccino. The owner brought an digestif that was also terrific. Hope they do well in this competitive New York restaurant scene. There is also a private bar downstairs for events.
